also.  Vintage does not always mean better.  :-)

         Yes, FT-1000's have had problems for years
but there are mods by both W8JI and Inrad if
only people would install them.  To give credit
where it is due, Yaesu finally implemented the
Inrad mod in production units in the summer of
2004.  I'm happy about that but wish it had not
taken them 15 years to do so.
