I aggree with Bob. The DEMI transverters are about the best
"bang for the buck" transverters out there.
And I'd keep the Omni D to use as the IF radio for driving
the transverter as well. I suspect that the Omni D has a
significantly cleaner local oscilator chain than the 840.
Clean local oscilators are important for VHF work, more so
than for HF.
