Why is it that when a person points out a problem with a Ten Tec radio that it is labeled as 'bashing TT'? I'm sure when someone points out a problem, their intent is not to bash Ten Tec, it is more to share the information about the problem with other Ten Tec owners. If you talk with Ten Tec about problems with a radio, I can assure you it can sometimes be a very frustrating conversation. And that is not bashing Ten Tec, that is just stating a fact that I have learned in talking to them, especially since the release of the Orion. Ten Tec is NOT the same good ole Ten Tec we are all used to dealing with....they HAD to change the way they do business with us hams.

Before the email becomes filled with those ready to bash TT,
I thought you all should know that Elecraft also has some issues with their
control knobs' premature wear.

Because it's a Ten Tec!

Interesting about the RIT encoder.
Someone suggested using the N4py control program and leaving the knobs alone
on the front panel, that way they will last longer and the front panel will
not show wear. However, I know that is not the answer to your problem, and
the encoders should be holding up better. Toby W4CAK
