For what it is worth,.... the problem in one Orion out here was traced to a "noisy" pot in the bottom of the rig. The one which set the brightness/contrast aspect. Not sure which it is, but the solution was for Ten Tec Service to replace the pot with a new one. This solved the "problem" which seems to be the one many are experiencing.
