Thank you for your encouraging words re: QRQ operations. there's something
purely magical to me, about being able to copy at that speed (not that I
would know mind you!).
I have been copying in my head now for a year, as I installed an IC706 in my
jeep. I've got a trip to and from work ...half hour each, that I can copy
code.
I could NEVER copy in my head before, but now I can do pretty well at the
20-25 WPM range in QSOs. I know that sounds like reverse to you, but
it's progress for me. I can copy probably 50% of the 30 and 35 wpm
code practice that the arrl sends. When I lose track though, it flusters
me and it takes a while for me to synch back up again, which is frustrating.
I do know now, that if I try and copy with a pen at home, it messes me up
(kinda like looking at the keyboard does once you know how to touch type
maybe!).
Where can I listen to hear good QRQ CW ops? I sometimes hear some right
about 7.022 or so in the early AM....other places?
I'm in the Raleigh NC area.
Thanks Tom!
