Dan: The bandswitch knob on my Corsair II split around the shaft, back in the late 80's. I removed the knob, and filled the empty space surrounding the thin wall that surrounds the shaft with epoxy. There has been no sign of any looseness of that knob since the fix. I remember making the fix, but cannot actually recall whether the setscrew had to be protected from the epoxy seizing up on it or not. It appears that the setscrew is drilled thru a wall, that would keep it from being exposed to the epoxy at all, but I can't tell on mine now, due to the epoxy totally sealing off the empty voids of the knob. You should be able to readily see whether the set-screw is going to be in harms way from the epoxy, and if so, remove the set-screw, coat it with grease, and keep it turned often, as the epoxy sets up. Luck with it! "73" Dub At 04:36 PM 9/20/2003 -0400, you wrote: Does anyone know where to go to find a replacement for the bandswitch on a Corsair II. I was told at Ten Tec that they no longer supply the bandswitch. Mine has a little play in it and I was told it was caused by wear. The switch snaps right into band but I can wiggle the switch. I found the play to be in the part of the unit against the faceplate and not in the wafers. I also checked set screws. They are fine. It seems like this is normal play but Ten Tec says it is wear. We may not have been communicating very well land line and all. The boys at Ten Tec say I should have a standby. They told me it is no big deal to find one. Yea, right!!! Can anybody with a Corsair II tell me what there experiences have been with this problem.
