Another thing hams often overlook, is to twist the heavy conductors used to go from a DC supply to a transceiver to reduce any chance of stray noise pickup via that path. Although I do not believe it to the cause in this case, it bears mentioning. Always be alert also to heavy noise sources that can crop up in an area with old overhead electrical wires, substations, vapor type street lamps, or neon signs. 73, Stuart K5KVH |
