Regarding Message #6- (KB7OEX: TenTec Blinders):  I agree with Tim on the
dedication to TenTec products.  TenTec makes very good rigs and has great
service, but other rigs are very competitive.  Check the ARRL reports on the
ICOM 781 and 775 DSP.  The blocking dynamic range and intercept points are
impressive (along with the cost).

WRT message #7: The 'great Canadian invention,  the Robertson (square) screw
head' is quite good, but no match for a lag bolt!
