What you need is the appropriate impedance matching microphone transformer. See the tech notes at the Shure Co. web site. Older dynamic mikes and crystal elements were for the high impedance tube grid applications. Modern electret mikes may match lower impedance common on todays rigs. But specialized mike elements like a Heil may need the transformer to have enough voltage for a low impedance input. 73, Stuart K5KVH |
