Dan's point is well taken. After nearly a year with my PRO, which I regard
as the finest radio I have used in nearly 56 years, I am still learning new
things about it and its operation almost every day.
It is not a radio that can be switched on and immediately put to use
"intuitively." It has a complex architecture with enormous capabilities for
adjustment to suit operating conditions. It will be a chore to operate for
those who merely want to tune in stations and "push to sqwawk" in return.
I am not putting down the Jupiter, just agreeing with Dan and affirming
that the PRO requires manual study and much practice before one can feel
confortable and confident with it, especially under trying conditions. But,
once facility is gained, there is little that it cannot handle.
The Jupiter sounds like an excellent radio for Dan's father.
