How tight is the tuning encoder on an omni vi+? I have no tension on my
tuning knob; in fact I have moved the knob out slightly on the encoder shaft
so there is complete clearance between the front panel and the friction
pads. The resistance to turning the tuning knob is still more than I would
like. I have used only one other vi+, and ac5aa's knob was easier to turn.
Has anyone replaced the encoder, or does anyone know how much TT charges for
a new encoder, or are there other sources for the encoder? I am thinking of
trying that just to know for sure - I have done some prior front panel work,
and I know that requires caution and patience. THANKS!
