Piotr,
Some added thoughts on the Omni VI Plus. I agree with the comment on
filters. I use the 1.8khz and 500hz filters in the 9 mhz if, and the
1.8khz, 500hz and 250 hz filters in the 6 mhz if. My objective in
purchasing the Omni VI + was to get a great cw rig, and it is that. I
also find the digital noise reduction button to be a great aid in
copying weak cw. It truly makes the signal leap out of the background
when you need to use it, as with very weak signals in a noisy
background.
I also have found the rig to be a very nice sideband radio. While I
don't normally do much sideband work, I have been doing more because I
find that the Omni handles it so nicely. If you can get through the
qrm on Sunday afternoons, or evenings where you are, try listening to
the Ten-Tec User's net at 14.280 + or -, to get views on Ten-Tec gear.
They come on usually about 0000 UTC, which I guess would be Monday
morning if you are East of London.
In summary, I have thoroughly enjoyed my Omni VI Plus.
