I guess my ignorance is showing again here....Why shouldn't
someone learn to send CW from paddles and a keyer? What does
learning CW on a straight key provide over a keyer beyond the
ground-level, mechanical construction of CW characters. So what?
A keyer will do the same thing.
It seems to me that starting out on a keyer (properly adjusted)
will relieve the learner of a lot of pain and trouble and make
learning and using CW much more enjoyable.
You don't have to have experience on a tricycle to learn to ride
a bicycle. You don't have to have experience on a bicycle to
learn to ride a motorcycle.
Get a Ten-Tec keyer and have fun.
