Jim,
I just recently purchased the Omni VI+. I have used my LogiKey for a
couple of years, so may be biased. I tried the built-in keyer on the
Omni. Worked fine. However, I found that the versitility of the
LogiKey was too appealing to give it up. I used the AccuKeyer project
from an old QST for a long time before getting the LogiKey, so I like the
fact that I can select Accukeyer sending from the LogiKey menu. I seem to
send better (a strictly relative term!!!) in either the AccuKey or the
Super Keyer modes on the LogiKey than I do in the Curtis modes.
As well, when in a contest, or trying to do something else, it is nice to
just be able to hit the little button on top of the LogiKey to throw your
call into a pileup. I guess a matter of personal preference, but, as I
mentioned above, I like the versatility of the LogiKey. Besides, my
spouse, KE4YSK gave it to me for my birthday. Now, how many more hamming
birthday presents would I ever get if I stopped using it?
