"It's the little things drive you crazy"
Have your S-Meter lamps been flickering OFF and ON? Especially when
you touch the front panel PassBand or Fade controls? You figure, how
are they related?
Take the top cover off and look inside. The grounded metal brackets that
the S Meter lamps are mounted on are very very close (about the
thickness of two layers of Scotch 33) to the screw heads on the back of
the S Meter. If they touch, out go the lamps. Slipping a small piece of
insulating material between them does the trick.
