[TenTec] Again: Loose Omni VI+ Filters

My new Omni VI+ arrived here in Munich, Germany last Monday, but due to
business travel, I couldn't unpack and play with it until today, Thursday.

As I stated I would in an earlier mail regarding this subject, I followed
Scott's advice and pulled the covers and checked the seating of all the plugs.
I found them all seated well. NOTHING was loose.

However, when I pulled the bottom cover to check the seating of all the
filters (I ordered them all), I had to chuckle. Each filter bank is now
covered with an additional aluminum plate, held in place by four tiny screws.
I removed both plates and had a peek. The bottom side (nearest to the filter
assemblies) of each have two foam rubber strips fixed to them. This holds all
filters in place and protects them from any shock which might be encountered
during shipment.

There were NO loose filters. There will never again be loose Omni VI+
filters.

Ten Tec has listened to our forum's constructive criticism and responded
quickly and professionally with a very simple, yet effective cure to the
problem highlighted by several of you on the reflector. I would like to thank
those of you who criticized TenTec (horse-back riders and all) because now I
have a better rig.

I believe "Kensuecom" would have ignored this type of criticism altogether. I
find it great that Scott monitors our feedback here and transforms our input
into effective product improvements.

By the way, if you don't yet have an Omni VI+, start saving for one. It's
great.

Anyone running an older Omni VI, I can really recommend upgrading to the VI+
software. The software menu is now much more user friendly. I haven't had
enough opportunity to evaluate the merits of the DSP changes.
