Paul, much depends on sound card and available software. I recently had 3
different Dell notebooks and only one of them had drivers for sound for dos.
You still can try run SBDVP from the DOS box from Windows but I found that
sometimes sound quality is very poor and there are some playing speed
issues. So now when I get new notebook computer that I plan to use for ham
radio I always inspect sound card and its drivers very carefully. There is
also -v switch in SBDVP that is worth while remembering about.
