This Week's Contests:
For North American stations, the big contest this weekend will be the
NCJ North American QSO Party, CW. This runs from 2 PM Saturday until 2
AM Sunday on 160-80-40-20-15-10M CW. Power is limited to 100W for all
stations. Single ops may operate no more than 10 of the 12 hours with
30 minute minimum off times. (Be sure that it is actually 30 minutes and
not 29 or the 29 minutes will count as operating time...if you last
logged QSO is at 1900, don't log another one until 1931Z.) Exchange is
simple: Name and North American state, province or country (including
KH6 as HI even though it is not in NA). Other stations outside North
America must send only Name as exchange and do not count for
multipliers. All states, Canadian provinces or territories as listed in
the rules, and countries count as multipliers on each band. So there is
a lot of QSYing going on all the time to try to get more mults.
Activity generally starts on the highest open band and moves down the
bands until 160M is reached mostly after dark. There is a TEAM
COMPETITION. Pre-registered teams of from two to five members may be
registered. K4BAI is to register SECC teams, WA1FCN ACG teams. and N4PN
GCG teams. BUT, you do not have to belong to a club or be within any
particular geographical area (such as a club circle) to be on a team.
Teams must be pre-registered before the contest starts, so please let me
or one of the others know if you can be on a team. We would need to
know if you will be low power or QRP power and approximately how many of
the ten hour maximum you anticipate being able to operate. I welcome
anyone to be on a SECC team, SECC member or not. Please let me know
ASAP as I would like to register the teams Friday night or Saturday
morning at the latest.
Other contests for the next week:
