Contesting is growing in GA/AL/SC. This is the highest number of scores
I have been able to report for a single contest ever. And, I've been
doing this since 2002 I think.

This Week's Contests:

First, let's start with what we won't have next week since it is
Christmas week. No QRP Fox Hunts. No CWOps CWT Mini Tests.

1. QRP Fox Hunt. 80 Meters. Tonight (Thursday) local date. 0200-0330Z
Friday. Two QRP Foxes, N9AW, Jerry in WI and N1IX, Dave in NH, will be
hiding between 3550 and 3570 kHz. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power.
Work only the two Foxes. 5W maximum power.

2. NCCC NS Sprint RTTY Practice. 0130-0159Z Fri (Thurs night local
date). 20, 40, 80M RTTY. Maximum power 100W. One kHz QSY rule.
Exchange: Both calls, #, Name, SPC. Look around 080 kHz on each band.
Dupes OK after one intervening QSO. I think this is the last RTTY
Sprint practice until February.

3. NCCC NS Sprint CW Practice. 0230-0259Z Fri (Thurs night local
date). 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. Maximum power 100W. One kHz QSY rule.
Exchange: Both calls, #, Name, SPC. Look around 040 kHz on each band
and 1815 kHz. Dupes not OK.

4. OK DX RTTY Contest. 24 hours of Saturday UTC. 80-10M RTTY.
Exchange: RST + CQ Zone. Work everyone.

5. Croatia (9A) CW Contest. 14Z Sat to 14Z Sun. 160-10M CW.
Exchange: RST + serial #. Work everyone.

6. ARRL Rookie Round Up. 1800-2359Z Sunday. 80-6M CW. 100W maximum
power. Exchange: Name + 2 digit year first licensed + S/P/XE
area/"DX." Rookies work everyone. Everyone else work only Rookies.
Rookies are those licensed in 11, 12, and 13 years (within the last
three years).

7. Straight Key Century Club December Week Night Sprint (SKS). 00-02Z
Dec 25 (Christmas Eve local date). 160-10M CW. Use a mechanical key.
Exchange: RST + SPC + Name + SKCC# or "NONE." Look around 050 kHz on
each band plus 1815 kHz.

Hope everyone has a good week and weekend and a lot of QSOs. 9A CW
Contest is a lot of fun to work people worldwide on CW. Let's try to
encourage Rookies on CW on Sunday afternoon.

73, John, K4BAI.
