This Week's Contests:
1. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Three separate one-hour mini tests on
Wednesday local date. 13Z, 19Z, and 03Z (Thursday UTC). 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC.
2. 80M QRP Fox Hunt. 0200-0330Z Friday (Thursday night local).
3550-3570 kHz. 5W maximum power. Exchange: RST + SPC + Name + power.
Work only the two foxes. I think the two Foxes are W9CF, Kevin in AZ
and Jim, N0UR, in MN. Jim should be workable from here. Kevin may be
workable from here near the end of the hunt.
3. NCCC NS Sprint Practice. I think it is regular NS Series rules this
week. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local). 100W maximum power.
One kHz QSY rule. 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. Exchange: both calls, #, name,
SPC. Look around 040 kHz on each band and 1815 kHz.
4. LZ (Bulgarian) DX Contest. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. 80-10M CW, SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + ITU Zone (ours in 08) or 2 Ltr LZ District. Work
everyone.
5. ARRL Sweepstakes Contest, Phone. 21Z Sat to 03Z Mon. 24 hours
maximum operating time with minimum of 30 minutes off times. 160-10M
SSB. Exchange: #, Precedence (A,B,Q,U,M,S), Call, Check (last two
digits of year first licensed), ARRL/RAC Section. There is a club
aggregate score competition.
6. Flying Pigs QRP Club November Run for the Bacon. Sunday night
local, 02-04Z Monday. 160-10M CW. 5W maximum power. Exchange: RST,
SPC, FP# or power.
7. 40M QRP Fox Hunt. Tuesday local time, 0200-0330Z Wednesday of next
week. Same rules as the 80M Fox Hunt on Thursday, except the frequency
is 7040-7050 and there will be different foxes.
8. North American QRP CW Club Straight Key/Bug Sprint. 0130-0330Z Thurs
(Wednesday night local). 80-40-20M CW. 5W maximum power. Exchange:
RST = SPC + NAQCC# or power. Double your score for hand key and 1 1/2
times your score for bug. If I can get in this one, I will be PJ4/K4BAI
and will probably be using keyer/computer keying, since I don't have a
hand key wired for the stations there.
I will be leaving Columbus about 3 AM Monday, so don't expect me to put
in a full effort in SS Phone this year. Should be in Bonaire by Monday
night. Will return next Tuesday after CQ WW CW DX Contest. We will
have six ops as PJ4A in multi-two, K4BAI, KU8E, K1XM, W1UE, NG7A, and
PJ4LS. We plan to practice before the contest using PJ4/K4BAI. Others
may be QRV with their home calls. QSL PJ4A, PJ4/K4BAI, and PJ4/KU8E
only via K4BAI. Others QSL as directed or via their home calls.
I will try to get out a report from Bonaire next week. I should be able
to receive and send e-mails at my usual e-mail address. If I miss next
week, I'll try to double up the following week. Hope everyone has a
great week and weekend and a lot of QSOs. For once, I should be home
from the trip for Thanksgiving, but will miss our 39th wedding
anniversary as usual. 73, John, K4BAI.
