This Week's Contests:
1. CWOps CWT Mini Tests. Wednesday local date. Three separate one hour
contests. 1300Z, 1900Z, 0300Z (Thursday UTC). 160-10M CW. Exchange:
Name +
CWOps# or SPC.
2. NCCC RTTY Practice. 0130-0159Z Friday (Thursday night local). 20,
40, 80M RTTY. 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY rule. Exchange: both
calls, name, SPC. Look around up 80 kHz.
3. NCCC NS CW Practice. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local). 20,
40, 80, 160M CW. 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY rule. Exchange:
both calls, name, SPC. Look around up 40 kHz. This week only: Use
hand key or bug.
4. CQ World Wide DX Contest, SSB. 48 hours of weekend, UTC. 160-10M
SSB. Exchange: RS + CQ Zone. Same country QSOs count only as
multipliers and no QSO points. NQ4I will be QRV M/M. W4BW, K4UN, W4XO,
W4KLY will be with TI friends as TI8M. Band conditions on the high
bands have been excellent lately. Try to be QRV and enjoy good high
band conditions before they go away for this sunspot cycle. Remember
there is a club aggregate score category, so be sure to include your
club name in your Cabrillo log header. Note the new Classic Class. SO
one radio, no spotting, 24 hours maximum time. If you qualify for that
category, you should modify your Cabrillo header to show it. I haven't
studied the rules in this regard, but I'd suggest CATEGORY-OVERLAY:
CLASSIC if the rules don't specify anything different.
Also, remember that ARRL Sweepstakes, CW, is the next weekend, the first
weekend in November. There is a club aggregate score category in that
one too.
Have a good week and weekend and a lot of QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
