Hi Guys and Gals of the SECC....I wanted to give some updated information
about our dear and beloved GQP....first of all there are some really neat
plans underway for next years test...thanks Mike NE4S....Mike has been head
honcho for the GQP now for quite a long time...he has a great level of
enthusiasm and devotion to the GQP....and if you don't know it...he has the
logs scored and posted to the Internet in RECORD time!!!
It is my goal to make the GQP next year another of the best qso parties in
the US.....
Mike NE4S, Jeff W4DD the SECC VP, and I met last week for a lunch meeting at
Fuddrucker's....and I have to admit that a lot was accomplished in the
meeting...but there are some areas that still need our attention....last
year Tommy W4BQF was in charge of the Plaques, ordering and distributing
etc....Tommy has withdrawn for other obligations at this time...so one of
the first items to focus attention on is filling this position...this will
require that an individual find a plaque distributor, negotiate prices,place
the necessary order, pick up the plaques and make arrangements to have the
winners plaques distributed...the main idea is to do it in a timely manner
and in co-ordination with Mike's work on the logs and results.... I am
hoping that some one will find this both interesting and challenging! If you
feel that you can help us out here, I would appreciate an e-mail to me
personally and we can discuss this venture....
More correspondence will be coming in the upcoming weeks as we approach the
