Hello all: I am sorry to have to advise you that our friend Archie
McKay, K4GA (formerly WA4LLE of Macon and Valdosta) of Sky Valley, GA
died yesterday while visiting his son in Las Vegas, NV. Archie and Cuba
had gone out there for a few months to help the son write a book. They
were scheduled to return to GA in May.
See the message below from Archie's XYL, Cuba McKay, who is a retired
professor from Valdosta State University.

This is to let you know that Archie died last night. He had some
problems, and we had been seeing doctors. We saw a cardiologist
yesterday and had an appointment with the regular doctor today. We
assume it was from his heart problems. We had just gotten him settled
in his chair, and I sat down on the other side of the room. In a few
minutes I looked over, and it did not look like he was breathing. I
called 911 and did CPR about 10 minutes until the EMTs arrived. They
tried for another 30-40 minutes, but he didn't come back. I would
appreciate it if you would let other radio operators know.
The body will be creamated out here (we are in Las Vegas), and a
memorial will be held back in GA. When the arrangements are made, I
will let you know.
