It seems the discussions during the last week have got everyone's attention.
Maybe this would be a good time to ask for some volunteers to help me out
with the GQP. Basically this is what we need to keep the GQP going and make
it a contest that everyone circles on their contest calendar. None of these
positions will require a huge commitment of your time. Here are the
positions I need filled and the tasks :
1) Contest Promotion Director : The person in this position will promote
the GQP in the weeks leading up to the GQP. This will include sending
emails to past participants and to the local clubs in GA to encourage
their members to participate. Also promote contest in any other ways you
can think of. Post message to contesting.com the week before the contest.
2) GQP Web Page Author - Create a professional and interesting webpage that
contains the updated rules and results. Also include any other content
that (such as contest analysis) that might be interesting to the reader.
3) Awards Director - Coordinate sending out plaques and certificates to
winners.
Presently, I am doing #1, #2 , in addition to the log checking. I would
like to continue to do log checking and give these other two tasks to
someone else. #3 is being done by K4OGG - plaques and KT4ZB - certificates.
Jay indicated in a message to the reflector earlier this year he would like
to have someone take over for him. I think Jere is still OK with doing the
certificates ???
