The 2004 Michigan QSO Party (MiQP) is this weekend, April 17, from noon
until midnight EDST. (This is 16Z on 17 April until 04Z on 18 April in
Zulu-speak). Here are the fundamental details:
- Operate phone and CW on 80/40/20/15/10 meters
- Stations can be worked once per band and mode
- Exchange QSO number and location (county, state/province or "DX")
- Multipliers are MI counties for all entries, plus states &
provinces for MI entries only. Count multipliers once per mode.
- Phone QSO = 1 pt, CW QSO = 2 pts. Final score = QSO pts x mults
Suggested frequencies: CW-3545, 7045, 14045, 21045, 28045;
Phone-3850, 7225, 14250, 21300, 28450.
Awards: Plaques for top MI-SOHP, MI-SOLP, MI-SOQRP, MI-Multiop,
MI-Mobile, Non-MI/Eastern US, Non-MI Western US, Non-MI Most Counties
Works, and Michigan Club Score.
Again this year, plans are in place to have all 83 counties QRV during
the contest. The usual complement of Michigan rover mobiles will be
criss-crossing the state to hand out county mults, and a number of
uncommon counties are planning to have full-time efforts.
Full rules, information, and free logging software is available on the
MiQP web site at http://www.miqp.org.
