[SECC] W4AN - Silent Key - April 4, 2004

Subject: [SECC] W4AN - Silent Key - April 4, 2004

I am so sorry to hear this terrible news. I fully support his nomination
for the hall of fame. However I disagree that postponing the GAQP event is
a good thing. I doubt if W4AN would support disrupting this major contest.
Everyone knows about it already. Its already been published. No one could
possible get out the cancellation to everyone.

Perhaps some one the air salute to W4AN during the contest by SECC
participants would be in order. I.E. 73 Bill when you sign.
Whatever.

Just some thoughts.

Dan/W4NTI

webpage it says our club was built around the concept of us communicating
via the Internet using a reflector. That reflector , along with the SECC,
SEDXC, GQP and others outside the club has always been supported by W4AN,
both physically and financially. We all owe Bill a lot for something that I
think we all take for granted that has increased our enjoyment of our
hobby. Will everything continue
> to go on as it is now or will it change ?? I'm sure no one is sure what
is going to happen. As a contingency I will be coping all the source files
for the
> SECC and GQP webpages to the hard drive of my computer when I get home
tonight, just in case they stop working. In the unfortunate case that
everything stops working we have other options on where these websites will
be hosted.

I have been thinking about maybe postponing the GQP this weekend out of
respect
> to Bill and his family. We shouldn't take this decision lightly and I
think it should be a club decision. If we do we need to act fast so we can
get the word out. Please send your feedback to the SECC relector ASAP.

this year
