Hello all:

There are a number of contests this weekend that promise to keep anyone
interested busy, particularly on CW. Here is a quick summary for easy
reference.

1. County Hunters CW Contest. 48 hours. 00Z Sat to 24Z Sun. Send RST
plus County and State. Get same or province or DX. Suggested
frequencies:
3575 (!), 7050, 14040, 21050, 28050. Stations on a county line count as
one QSO but multiple mults. Fixed stations welcome. Emphasis on on
mobiles. Great opportunity for new counties.

2. 10-10 CW Contest. 48 hours. 00 Sat to 24Z Sun. Send Name plus SPC
plus 10-10 number if a member. Hope for some propagation on this band.
10 M CW only.

3. Indiana QSO Party. Sat 13Z to 05Z (Sun UTC). Send RST plus state.
Get RST plus county. They promise many mobiles and all counties on the
air. suggested frequencies: 1805, 3540, 7040, 14040, 21040, 28040.
                        1845, 3850, 7230, 14250, 21300, 28450.
Suggested 160 M at 02 and 04Z and CW on each hour.

4. ARI DX Contest (Italy). This one turns out a lot of Italian
stations. 20Z Sat to 1959Z Sun. CW/SSB/Digital. Send RST plus serial
#. Get RST plus 2 letter abbreviation for Italian province. Work only
Italians. They suggest using CT in DXpedition mode for logging. I'm
not sure that will accept serial #s and Letter Abbreviations, but it
might be worth a try.

5. New England QSO Party. This one has been growing by leaps and
bounds. 20Z Sat to 05Z Sun and 13 to 24Z Sun. Send RST plus state.
Get RST plus county and state. Suggested frequencies: 3540, 7040,
14040, 21040, 28040.
                                           3880, 7280, 14280, 21380, 28380.

Hope this will be helpful to you and that many of you can get on the air
and make some contacts this weekend. Let's be a really active club.

73,

John, K4BAI.
