>The weather report says this weekend will be fine for antenna work, too.=
Time to get your antennas >ready for the major SECC effort in the ARRL =
160 Contest!

Hold it there, Gary!

CQWW CW comes before the ARRL 160, and is (IMHO) a better and more compet=
itive contest.

OK, I'll volunteer for "Activity Director" for CQWW CW this year.

My pitch...Conditions should be great! And since the cycle is on the dow=
nturn, conditions might
not be this good for years to come. You wanna work high rates on 10 CW? =
 This is the year
to do it! The present CME solar disturbance will be a memory come contes=
t time.

Furthermore, CQWW follows Thanksgiving, which means most of us get Friday=
 off which allows
us plenty of rest. Next year, that doesn't happen.

I plan on a full 43 + hour effort......

Come on, now....who's with me? Dump your call in.

All three modes have decent contests this weeked (CW-SSB-RTTY). =20
 =20
The WAE and OK/OM 'tests are the usual 0000Z Sat. (Friday local) to 2400Z=
Sunday; JIDX is 2300Z Friday to 2300Z Sunday. Note that WAE and JIDX do =
not include 160M. Other countrie's contests usually have some pretty goo=
d action for a couple hours or more. It also can be a good idea to keep =
your callsign fresh in their memory, too!
 =20
My next contest is CQWW. With no M/M at NQ4I/W4KZ, I think a 40M single =
band entry will be my choice.
 =20
The weather report says this weekend will be fine for antenna work, too. =
Time to get your antennas ready for the major SECC effort in the ARRL 16=
0 Contest!
