[SD-User] keyboard mode

Hi I have a pal who has a problem, when he goes into keyboard mode by pressing 
ctrl the rig goes into transmit.
It works ok on my set-up but I key the rig via rig control, he uses the direct 
keying via the serial port.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
