Many thanks to all who helped me find the problem, especially Larry K8UT and
Rich VE3KI. It just needed the latest version of WB, rather than my old
download. The only reference I could find online was a link to a very old
version which did not work with N1MM+.

John,

In the Spectrum Window, select External > Waterfall Bandmap as the spectrum
source.

N1MM+ sends frequency data to WB, and WB sends spectrum data to the 
N1MM+ N1MM+
Spectrum Window. The RSP1 is not seen by N1MM+ at all, it merely provides
the I/Q data that WB uses to generate its spectrum display.
