Hi Julio,
I feel I should give an explanation as this was my policy with BARTG
contests before Simone took over.
My view has always been that power categories result in bad rules. Any rule
that is not enforceable is not a good idea. There is also a huge discrepancy
between the maximum power allowed in different regions. Here we are allowed
400W, your limit is 1500W, others run far more. On top of that there are
many stations with very limited antennas. Is the station with 100W to
stacked monobanders really low power, compared with 400W to a piece of wire?
I can assure you that BARTG have never intentionally been a QRO-oriented
group. We just try to have rules that are clear and cannot easily be
avoided.

Simone,
I do realize this is an old thread and I do realize another group is taking
over the Makrothen contest but you asked me a direct question and I feel I
owe you a direct answer so here it is...
Why?? Because of the three contests you sponsor none has low power
categories, I don't see what other conclusion I could possibly reach, you're
clearly a QRO-oriented group. I am not asking you to have low power
categories though, that's absolutely your prerogative.
