At least one of the online specs for the IC-756 Pro III (which I own) says RTTY 
is rated at 100 watts with 100% duty cycle. Probably representative of all the 
late model Icoms.

There might be IMD or purity reasons not to run at 100% power, but the power 
handling capabilities don't seem to be a reason.

Maybe instead of saying "No xcvr", maybe you should have said "some xcvrs".

I always ran my TT Omni VI at full power in many RTTY contests with no problem. 
I even called TenTec and asked if I needed a fan for this type of service and 
they said no.
