I'm confused by all of this concern about CRLF and scrolling, I guess
because I've never used N1MM. In writelog the window doesn't scroll, it
wraps around - meaning when the last line in the window is written the next
line is the top line. Nothing scrolls away from your mouse. It works great.

N1MM Plus offers both options. The scrolling (N1MM Classic) style has the advantage that new text always appears in the same place, at the bottom of the window, so you can keep the mouse near the bottom instead of having to move up and down the window as the last line changes its location. However, it has the disadvantage that the text you want to click on moves when new text arrives, instead of staying in one place. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

The advantage of starting with a CR/LF is that your call sign always appears at the left side of the other guy's screen. Combine this practice with the scrolling method on receive and you might hardly have to move your mouse at all, except for the people who insist on putting CR/LFs on the end of their messages.
