I don't see how an ice coating on the antenna would have any effect
on signals, either rx or tx. Please explain.

Likewise, but with "only" 1/4 inch of ice. Worst part about it, the
temperature isn't supposed to get above freezing until Monday, and I
don't do "ice" fishing!
