Everything that W4TV, W7AY and AA6YQ said should just about cover it for you Peter. The backers of the proposal at the league are all involved with Winlink one way or another
and the league has adopted Winlink as their emcomm
standard.

OK, help me (us) out here.  The League will say "no, that's not what
this is about" whether it is or not, so what could they point to to
make what they say true?

I share your concern about turning all HF digital bands over to
SailMail, but we need to be ready with counter-arguments as well.
