I don't see this. I need to add 17% (in the example given) to EVERY
transmission because a bit *might* get stomped?
When I first got back into RTTY I sent my exchange three times, every
time based on "two is detection, three is correction"
theory that Chen just described elsewhere.
I've stopped doing that and only send it once now, especially if I'm
CQing. If the other station doesn't think he copied it correctly, he
can ask for a repeat, and if he does, he'll get the exchange repeated
two or three times. If my copy of the other guy was poor from the
get-go, I might start with two or three exchanges to pre-empt a repeat
request.
