They have excellent antennas and no local noise, so if there is any S/N ratio 
at all, they can pull you out.  I have worked them 30-10 all modes on a low (12 
foot high) dipole.

It should be easy for anyone in North America to work VP6DX with just 
about any antenna.  A few days ago I worked them QRP with a dipole on 30 
meters, and they we not strong.  Good ears, I guess.
