Welcome to the discussion, Ed. It has long been agreed that two-radio
operation is a marked advantage over one-radio. The best two-radio
expert of all (arguably) is Don, AA5AU and he has stated in his own
experience that going to two radios gave him about a 40% score
increase.

And that of course, is why people go to all the trouble and expense.
If it were a tiny, minor advantage, nobody would bother.

There is nothing wrong with using two radios to increase your score,
but in a similar way to adding an amplifier, some people will want to
do it and some will not. There needs to be room for all to compete,
like against like as much as possible, and for all to be competitive
and have fun.
