ALE (the FED-STD-1045 version at least) sounds a bit like a turkey
gobbling, only with a higher pitch. It consists of 8-ary FSK using
750, 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750, 2000, 2250, and 2500 Hz tones. Occupied
bandwidth is a good bit wider than 600 Hz.
