Hi Tom and the group,

Oooooooh! That sounds a very dodgy practice!
I always check the card against my log, especially for contest contacts, just
in case.

I recently had one card in that proved to be NIL, so I emailed him and we
arranged a sked. It wasn't easy, but we made it after a few tries.

After a contest, I usually get a few direct cards, and it is amazing just how
many folk seem to try it on.
For example, I will get a call from W7WHY, but also get a call from another
station, so I send W7WHY TU 599 001 001 DE GU0SUP, and the other station sends
TU 599 021 021 and assumes the report meant for Tom was going to him.
He then sends me a card for a contact that wasn't his.

I guess that is partly down to my prefix on occasions.

Tom, I'd suggest you do check cards against your log from now on!

73 all

Phil GU0SUP
