To use or Not to use the LOTW: this is a choice, Nobody is obligated to use
LOTW.
You do Not have to use LOTW.
I personnaly do not like LOTW (hate it), so what? I am still a Ham Radio
lover.
LOTW (for me) is a Virtual stuff, I do not like virtual, I love real things.
As for the ARRL's "Big Bosses" - I agree, many of them just obtain the
licenses, they come to work place (at ARRL HQ's) five days a week, do their
jobe, get paid bi-weekly and go home, end of story.
The question is if they could do their work BETTER if they were active Hams?
Yes, they could do better, but nobody gonna replace them just because they are
not active Hams.
The number One Ham in ARRL HQ is K1ZZ - Dave is the best Sample for all those
non active Hams.

There is one more person who won't be using LoTW, Sarah Dorsey. Remember
her? I didn't think so. On October 5, 2005, she became the first Membership
Director of the ARRL after 91 years. She, like Mary Hobart, was not a ham
when she went to work in Newington. A search of the ARRL web site shows her
name appearing only one time, in the 2005 Index of Articles in QST. Another
search of the ARRL web site shows a job opening - for Membership Manager.
Imagine that! Actually the job posting has been there for a couple of weeks
already. So after less than 90 days on the job, the mighty League is looking
for its second Membership Manager in 91 years! I guess someone forgot to
tell her why less than one fourth of US hams are members!
