I think, the cable is manufactured in Taiwan, together with the chip.
This cable and the software is importet by the German wholesaler
Digitus . (WWW.DIGITUS.DE)

With unique MMTTY I can use the port COM1 to COMxx for PTT + FSK .

But:

With MMTTY together with DL4RCK-Software I must use the port 'EXTFSK'
(extfsk.dll from the webside of MMTTY) for PTT and FSK.
(COM1 to COMxx = only PTT )
Writelog and SM6SRW-MMTTYPluginforWritelog does'nt have this port 'EXTFSK' !
? ! These software must be changed ? ! ? !

We cannot assume that any adapter using the Prolific PL2303 chip will work for
FSK. The reason being, and I'm not 100% sure on this, is that the chip must be
programmed to run 5-bit code? As seen in other chips that are capable of 5-bit
code, if the device is not programmed to run 5-bit code, it won't.
For example, the DataPro US-109A uses the PL2303 chip. Is there anyone out
there who owns one of these and can test it on FSK?
The same goes for the BAFO model BF-810. And probably many more I didn't find.
Uli, are you using a commercially made USB adapter? If so, what is the brand
name? Or did you build your own?

I use the 'old' version USB 1.1 : comports run mostly with 9600 bd, FSK less,
therefor USB 1.1 is enough speed !
The USB-to Serial adapter (USB 1.1) costs in Germany ~ 10 Euro !
This morning I downloaded the current versions of the software from Prolific
Technology Inc., and testet it with the 'old' adapters I use: no problems.
