I usually receive 3 or 4 buro shipments per year. It's usually a box
sent UPS (I do a lot of CW and some SSB contesting, too). Some cards
received are under a year old. Most are 1-3 years, and I've received
some as old as 15 years! On the average, I figure 2-3 years for a
round trip of both cards.
I send my outgoing cards to the ARRL Outgoing service, except when I
have enough (one pound, usually) of an individual country. In that
case, it's more cost effective ($4 vs $8 per pound) to send direct to
that country's buro. For me, it's usually DL and JA I send directly
to their buros. Occasionally, a few other EUs like Italy, too.
