If the source of the solar system RFI really is the optimizers, there
will be no such things in a generator system. The optimizers are
switch-mode boost regulators, apparently running at about 39 KHz. Their
purpose is to regulate the voltage from each string of solar panels to
compensate for partial shading.
I'd expect the only RFI concern with the generator would be if it uses
an inverter. The 22 kW Generac one apparently does not. Of course,
there's always the control electronics.

Thanks, Jack. I will breath a bit easier with your input. We're also in a
rural location - by choice for RFI.

David,
I think you may rest easy on that account. We have a similar set up -
propane powered 22KW Generac generator and circuit sequencers (for hi
amperage devices). I experience no additional noise here when the unit is
operating and have successfully run the ECARS net during a power outage
more than once. We live in a quiet rural Maryland area.

Yesterday, my neighbor had a Generac loss-of-grid-power generator
installed
(with a 500-gallon propane tank). Hopefully, similar technology is not
used in their back-up generators. Time will tell.
