RG-214 has two shields. The inner shield is made of silver-plated copper wires
and the outer shield is made of tinned copper wires. Total diameter is
nominally .420 inches as opposed to the .405 inches of RG-8 and RG-213. RG-213
is what would have been named RG-8D (IIRC) and RG-214 is what would have been
RG-9C. Difference is primarily that the "new" stuff has non-contaminating
outer Jacket. Attenuation is virtually identical to RG-8 but maybe a smidge
higher at upper frequency range ( again, IIRC).
