Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2023 Feb 03 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity reached low levels with several C-class flares produced by old Region 3204 (N24, L=033) just beyond the NW limb. The largest was a C3 flare at 03/0249 UTC. New Region 3209 (N17E60, Bxo/beta) was numbered. Slight decay was observed in Regions 3201 (N24W68, Axx/alpha), 3206 (S21W03, Axx/alpha), and 3207 (S13E30, Cai/beta).

No Earth-directed CMEs were detected in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low, with C-class flares likely on 03-05 Feb.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to moderate levels on 03-05 Feb. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were near nominal levels with solar wind speeds near 350 km/s. DSCOVR data was suspect during the first half of the period due to faraday cup issues, but both ACE and available DSCOVR data reflected a mostly nominal solar wind regime. Total field ranged from 3-9 nT while the Bz component was between +7/-4 nT. Phi angle was predominantly negative.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to be at or near nominal levels on 03-05 Feb.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.

Forecast: Quiet to unsettled levels are expected on 03 Feb followed by mostly quiet conditions on 04-05 Feb.
