On 2010-FEB-08 we are seeing a series of continued flares from NOAA Active
Region 1045. So far, this sunspot region has released these M-class
flares:

1. M4.1 flare peaking at 0743 UTC
2. M1.1 flare peaking at 1203 UTC
3. M2.1 flare peaking at 1247 UTC

Most likely, throughout the day, more flaring is possible. Radio fading
occurs during the flare, on the sunlit side of Earth. The intensity of
the radio blackout, and the cutoff frequency where fading is no longer
noticed, depends upon the strength of the X-ray flare. The more intense
the flare, the higher in frequency fading occurs. The lowest HF spectrum
is most affected by flares.

The first glimpse of a CME is visible in STEREO Ahead COR2 pictures at
0639 UTC propagating to the left from the point of view of STEREO Ahead.
The CME propagates towards the Earth. This CME, then, should arrive at
Earth approximately two to three days from today (if the CME is extremely
fast-moving, it can arrive late on February 10, but if of average speed,
expect an impact on February 11). Expect possible aurora resulting from
this CME.
