You must thoroughly and completely uninstall the Orinoco 802.11b drivers and all it's remnants
from the machine before you install the TC Client software. It usually involves editing several
lines in the registry to totally remove it.

This procedure is, or at least used to be, documented in the readme.txt file that came with the
TC Client download.

I don't know for sure, but I doubt that the procedure has been streamlined in recent months.

Anybody got a link for the TC "pre-Install" procedures on a machine that's already had
Orinoco drivers installed on it?

Lister,
Have any of you seen this problem? I have an AP1000 with the TurboCell ISP Base upgrade. I got it loaded with some help from a few of you. Thanks. It is connected ethernet side via crossover cable to a desktop and communication is no problem thru the configurator.
I installed the TurboCell NDIS on my laptop which already had the Win98 drivers for the orincoc card. During the install the wizard repeatedly and alternately asked for pubprot and secur32 files. I located these files and pointed the wizard to them. After all was said and done a message stated I already had a device installed and couldn't run both drivers. So I switched to plan B and erased the drivers listed and went with a fresh install. I basically went thru the same thing as above but when it was done, it had the TC setup for client manager and wanted the key, NWID, rate, ect. With all info typed in, I restarted the system and started client manager. It stated no driver present. I switched the profile to AP and the driver appeared. Switched it back to TC and the driver is still there but the manager wont search off of channel 10. I go to the desktop and do a link test via configurator and it shows excellent signal and no packet loss. The laptop still shows nothing. La!
ptop cant ping AP either. Any thoughts or ideas. This is the latest version by the way.
Thanks,
