Hello Paul...
I don't think you can run CT under Windows ME because I am told there
is no underlying DOS operating system in this latest version of
Microsoft's OS.
I am one of a growing number who would like to see a real Windows
version of CT created. But so far Ken, as is his prerogative, has not
done so.
I have found that the only reliable way to run CT is in a pure DOS
environment. So my radio console computer has been specially configured
to run DOS 6.2 in a FAT 16 partition on its hard drive. The rest of
the hard drive is a FAT 32 partition with Windows 98 SE installed. After
the constest is over, I reboot into Windows and then massage and transfer
files around on my network. I am the first to agree that this is a bit
of a pain in the butt. But I long ago stopped having mysterious set-up
problems and crashes with both TRLog and CT using this method.
If somebody writes a good contest logger for Windows, or better yet,
Linux, I would buy it. CT and TRLog are the only DOS-based programs
that I am still using.
