This is a hobby.  Should we really expect people to risk their lives?  If you don't like the operation simply don't work it. Just like emails you don't like.  Delete and move on.  Nobody is forcing you to work anything.

Well, there's the cost. The amount spent on the last failed trip to Bouvet was obscene, when RIB had a far greater chance of success, at far less cost. As long as folks want to pay their own way to do the roughing it thing, more power to them. But don't go begging when it can be done well at far lower cost. Most of us have more important ways to spend our savings.
